Book Reviews

January Book Review

January was kind of a slow month for me reading wise. I actually haven’t read an entire book this month (sad), but I just couldn’t get into any of the ones I started. Nothing was sticking out to me and I was in a reading slump! I asked on Instagram earlier in the week what you would like to see on the blog, and I had some responses for book reviews and chats! That sounded like so much fun, so at the end of every month, I’m going to review the books that I’ve read and talk about books I want to read in the future!

What I’ve Read This Month

Last weekend, Seth and I traveled to Florida to be with his family, and we ended up listening to and finishing an audiobook on the way home. We listened to The Wife, and Seth and I both gave it 3/5 stars. It just didn’t have a big twist or an ‘omg moment’ that I thought it would have. I usually only listen to light-hearted or romance books on audio, so that could have something to do with why I thought it was just meh.

Books I Want To Read

Since this month’s book reads were kind of a bust, I did want to mention a few books I do want to read soon! If you are not familiar with NetGalley, it is a site where book reviewers and other professional readers can read books before they are published, in e-galley or digital galley form, like your Kindle or on your computer. Once you read the book, you post your review on Amazon, GoodReads, your blog, and/or social media pages. I stumbled upon this site and it has been so much fun!!!! to read books before they have been published. Two books that I just recently got approved to read are from two of my favorite authors! They are The Dilemma by B.A. Paris and Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier. Paris wrote one of my all time favorite books Behind Closed Doors and Hillier write Jar of Hearts that I read last year and loved. If you are looking for a good thriller, I highly highly recommend either of those!

What I’m Reading Now

I’m currently reading My One and Only by Kristan Higgins and it is so cute! It is the perfect romance novel. I’m almost halfway through it and am loving it. The main character is so witty and says the most hilarious stuff! Look it up if you want to see what it’s about. Next month I’ll include it on my February book review post!

Leave me any book suggestions in the comments below!

xoxo, Natalie Ann

  1. When do you read? At night? With your schedule I’m happy you can fit it in. I haven’t read any of your recommendations yet but it’s on my to do list for this year!
