If you know me personally, it is no surprise that I’m writing this post lol! Any opportunity I have to tell you what I’m currently reading or read, I’ll take it! I’m also a Literacy teacher, so I’m constantly encouraging my students to read, or we are delving into a book together.
My favorite genre to read is thriller/suspense/mystery. This is actually quite surprising to myself because I absolutely will not watch scary movies or scary tv shows.
Summer break has just begun for me, and I plan on reading ALL the books this summer! So grab a cup of coffee, open up your Amazon account and let’s get started!😁

The Party by Robyn Harding– This book definitely gave me anxiety while reading, but I don’t know why I expect anything less when I read books like this lol! It’s about a teenage girl who has a sleepover for her 16th birthday and something traumatic happens that pretty much changes her whole life and the life of those around her. It’s dramatic. It’s suspenseful. For me, it was very unpredictable. Some of the characters are annoying, but I don’t think they were supposed to be very likable in the first place. On GoodReads I gave this book 4/5 stars. (PS. If you don’t have a GoodReads account sign up for one now! It’s a great way to keep up with what you’ve read, what you want to read, and it gives great book recommendations. Check out mine here!)
The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine– GUYS. I gave this book 5/5 stars. It’s one of my top 5 favorite books of all time. I’m obsessed with the story. You HAVE to read it! This one definitely falls under the category of psychological thriller. This genre is so interesting to me, so you’ll see more books like this. This book had me hooked from the first page. After I really got into the story, I couldn’t put it down! I think I finished it in a day. I had to find out what the heck was going to happen. The main family in this book is extremely wealthy and I love that aspect about it as well. It’s about a woman who desperately wants to change who she is and her life and she will go to any lengths to do that. The little blurb on the front cover describes this book perfectly… “All she wanted was the life she deserved…until she got it.” Dum dum dummm.
The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo– In addition to thrillers, I love romance books as well. This is a love story that starts out between two young adults and spans between decades and countries. The book follows their lives as they grew up with and without each other. I also read this book in about two days! I could not put it down and I wanted to see what happened at the end. Well needless to say, it did not disappoint.
Right now I am currently reading The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews! I am loving it so far! It would be a great beach read with a murder mystery thrown in the mix. I’m about half way through, but it’s really cute so far!
These next few books are on my ‘To Read’ list and they all look SO good. Is it bad that I do kind of judge a book by it’s cover? I can just tell by the cover of a book whether or not it’s something I’m into or not! Please feel free to follow my GoodReads account to see what I’m reading or want to read in the future! I would love to know in the comments below what books you’re loving!
I hope you find something from my list that interests you and you’ll enjoy reading. I could have listed so many more that look amazing, but that is all I’ll do for now!
